Holy crap, you could probably fit 200 kilos in this trunk.
...of mortar. Because I'm a bricklayer. Yeah, that's it. That's what I meant.

WOW I almost missed this!
It's my exact car....but all fixed! lol
Looks great! Interesting that it looks like he removed the wheel lip molding, I was planning on it. Now I know what it looks like!
Nice find! Where did you spot it?

oh yeah, trunk is huge. Giving this is a restored copy of my car. Here's what the trunk looks like:
The people I bought it from apparently couldn't get the whole thing in frame.
Mine has an entire exhaust system in it at the moment. with that it holds 2 lawn chairs, spare oil, antifreeze, brake fluid, and a small tool box.
There is in fact room to spare after all that.

I'm glad you saw the post! I was gonna reply to one of your comments with the photos if I didn't hear from you. I saw the car near my house when I was out running errands. It's absolutely immaculate; the photos don't do it justice.

What area are you in again? I forget. I'm hoping there's not a better Montego roaming Metro-Detroit!
Am I right that it didn't have chrome wheel lip moldings?

I'm in San Diego. Your status of Best Montego in Metro Detroit is still safe ;)
Yes, you're right about the lip moldings, btw.

fantastic. I'm glad it's "normal" to remove them and it doesn't take away from the car. I'm missing one of them. ONE OF THEM. Infuriating.
Do you know how hard it is to find a wheel lip molding for a 68 Mercury Montego MX (it was ONLY on the MX)?!?!

Yes, I think I do. I've been trying to find quarter panel molding for my son's 55 Fairlane sedan since he was in an accident over a year ago. The body shop actually called yesterday to ask for pictures of the molding on his car because they think they found some but aren't sure if it's for a 55 or 56. If he had a coupe it'd be no problem at all.

oh I think I remember a post about that accident, that sucked.
And it sounds like you do!
